I sent a PM today and kept a copy just in case:

1. The Technicals have shown the following over the
last two months.

The chart at the link below has been building for a
while. But coming off the Sep lows you see higher lows
moving toward the present. At the same time you see
lower highs. If you connect the lines you get a
converging triangle pattern, a flag. It generally
means a move to the upside or a fall to the downside.

2. What can cause a break out of the flag? Good news
can take up out of consolidation while bad news can
take you down.

Last week CMGI says they will be presenting at an
analyst internet conference this coming Thursday.
-CMGI longs that know this company understand that DW
has been executing his game plan to a T. Alta Vista is
up and running better than ever before, we don't have
to worry about being classified as a Mutual Fund.
Recent CMGI IPO's have been performing well and more
are in the pipeline, in particular Alta Vista in
March. CMGI is building itself into an internet
conglomerate, I think of it as analogous to GE but in
the internet space.
-The other Blue Chip Inets are moving but CMGI was
stuck in a narrow trading range. Retail investors that
call themselves long are getting worried and talk of
bailing yet the stock is up 500% in the last 50 weeks
and the fundamental CMGI story is only getting
stronger. A major disconnect with reality in my
opinion and indicative of a bottom.
-Analysts tend to like pure plays because it is easier
to place a value on them. Most will agree there is a
lot of value in CMGI but they are unsure of how to
value it. DW will help to clarify things this
Thursday.
-Yesterday the news stories about CMGI start to look
favorable
-After the market closes we hear CMGI and AOL being
talked of in the same breath. Some of the more astute
analysts know that this is a great opportunity to
enter CMGI so why wait till Thursday when all the good
news will begin to trickle out. Raise targets Wed
morning and then on their resume they can put
recommended CMGI at $103 and stock is at $200 six or
twelve months later.
-The rest will be history

To me, all the parts were falling into place and I
expected the meeting this Thursday to be the catalyst
for upgrades and reason for the stock to head North.
This is why I had my post ref: "appetizers" yesterday.
Two analysts just happened to serve up the main course
a day early. This type of pattern is played out over
and over again in the markets.

Regards,
