Tony,

Re:"otellini's statement"

I believe it was to CNBC from the floor of comdex.

I think it was yesterday may have been monday.

I agree that this whole supply issue is FUD.

In fact Intel delayed a celeron price cut as well a few weeks back - a sure sign of great demand.

Also AMD stated that they were essentially sold out last week.

How this can be bad news is beyond me.

I still believe the coppermine launch has been flubbed by Intel - but worst case they will ship 2-3 million versus anticipated 4-5 million.

The good news so outweighs the bad news is amazing to me and the interpretation is so skewed.

Anyway I picked up a bunch of Dell at the close today - what a steal at 39 3/4.

regards,

Kash

Tony: Otellini's CNBC interview

The "double digit millions in Q1 2000" was from Tuesday's CNBC interview on CNBC. Sorry I don't have a URL, just caught it on the TV.

Q1 could well be THE quarter for Intel with profit and revenue beyond our expectations. Seems as if there may be an Intel/AMD truce as both enjoy the demand and the solid prices.

What this means for Rambus is not quite as clear.

BTW Congrats on the AMAT results. Mighty impressive.
