I'm very long on CHTR so don't get me wrong, but I see a problem with this stock as it would be traditionally viewed among other "cable" companies. Many of the companies today have a higher street value because they are always possible takeover targets. I don't think this is so for Charter due to the extremely deep pockets of its main shareholder. Cable companies (as I understand it) traditionally operate with huge losses due to the regulations and upgrade costs.
There is also a certain perception that PA is not really in this for the money. How much money could someone need, but is forming charter and vulcan as part of his "wouldn't this be neat" view of the world.

I for one feel that it is that view that will make him money in the future. In order to bring the internet to different aspects of daily life we need a visionary with VERY deep pockets. People obviously will pay for whatever is most convenient, fast, and cost effective and COOL.

As far as the IPO, it was a wild success! Unfortunately many trader types won't see the IPO for what it really was- a vehicle for raising $$$.

You are right its good for the company, companys are perpetual, for mortals, that takes time, even though 3/8 of 195M is 73M, so I guess that is good for any day, if its yours. I put my money in GNET today instead, I was tired of waiting for CHTR. Thursday, Friday, Monday, we'll see.
I am,
Truly yours,

You are EXACTLY right.Crystal Meth(oops I mean Ball) makes posts just for the air-time. Charter was a $3+ billion IPO and was very successful.Crystal is accustomed to slaming GNET whenever he has the chance.I (like so many others)generally ignore his posts, try it and you will allow the silence to be deafening.
