Hi Jeff,

The 56 point thread is a Technical Analysis thread started
by the resident guru Doug R. It seems to me to be a
friendly place where I can float TA questions or get
opinions on specific stocks.

The scan that I post has evolved over a year or so. It's
purpose is to try and identify stocks that might be good
short term (1 day to 5 days) prospects.

The "interesting scan" or RSI scan that I post scans about
3000 equitys and find stocks that have the following characteristics:
1. Cross of the 13 day RSI over a moving average of the
RSI ( defines a rising RSI)
2. Cross of the 13 day CCI over a moving average of the
CCI ( defines a rising CCI)
3. Volume increasing over the past 2 days.
4. Higher lows over the last 2 or 3 days.
5. A 89 day stochastic that is rising and over a limit.

The stocks that pass these characteristics seem to possess
about a 50-90 percent chance of being good picks. (general market conditions affect the results).

If one is interested in any of the stocks, examine it carefully and make sure it passes your personal tastes. there is no guarentee, only a starting point.

For example, the results generated by using the end of day data for Nov 17th, yield the following:

ADAP AEIS AMD BARZ BJS CDN CELG CGNX CLRS CYGN DSTM
DWTI ESIO FCST IDPH JEFF KLIC NBR NMGC NSM ORCL PESC
RCCK SATH SDLI SPF SPNC SSW SVGI VSH WPNE ZMBA

good luck..hope this helps

Jeff,

Ok...here's the deal. I put in way too much time devising several systematic approaches that describe what stocks do that are effective but require one to actually learn what they are about. Ya see, stocks "behave". I take a behavioralist approach to TA. As you may know, a person's behavior patterns are developed over their entire lifetime. There are also significant singular events within any lifetime that might effect a change in behavior. My techniques tend to separate stocks that have had no significant singular event that disturbs a "natural" progression from those that have. In the cases of singular events, there are several, as displayed in the chart activity, that have generally consistent outcomes. These stocks give buy and sell signals relative to that event.
Then there are those that just mosy along with no significant singular events. They behave in a certain way that allows me to use TA in order to take advantage of fairly obvious buy and sell patterns. In these cases I use chart activity that spans across as many years as I can get data for. I have devised a systematic approach that uses a progressive series of parameter sets across an array of indicators that are tuned in to very particular price chart activities which I have found to be significantly indicative of appreciation on an accelerating basis.
On top of all this, I host and teach seminars for small groups of traders in order to build a group of people who can all communicate on the same level of understanding. There are always some from each class who take my work and advance certain aspects to a higher level. That synergy is then shared among those who remain focused on what TA is about....learning and innovating.
The entire product has become quite massive. It's a freight train.
There are some extremely awesome scans that have come out of the seminars. There are new market forecasting techniques. There are new methods of mapping out support/resistance levels that bring price-behavioral dynamics into sharper focus.
Actually, I'm amazed at how far things have come in such a relatively short time. It's very much due to the caliber of people who have elected to become involved.
It's alot like a saloon. We've all actually met each other...really........face to face. We all know each other. The 56 thread is not just the internet.

Say HEY Jeff! LOL. Yep, she's the 56 saloon alright. Com'on in and welcome. Just watch yer Stairstep Pattern and duck yer Hardwood.

You may feel like an alien at first but I'm sure you'll find a place of comfort. Cracking the code is the hardest part of navigation but more on that later.

The bartender is Master Doug and he serves up some mean stock and other strange concoctions from the Blender. He uses the finest ingredients like RSI, CCI, BB's, MLR and some good Stochastic. Along with the normal BO, HTF, IHS, H&S, C&H and Double and Triple Tops and Bottoms, he has an assortment of original stuff like the famous MIMBO smoothie, the GTT or Decade Gap, the 3 Day Trick, etc. His latest being the 3RSI Ratio Paste. I can't wait for the Anti-Paste myself. The more you taste the MOAR you want.

One has to watch out for scanners and backtesters round these parts. They are parasites always looking to pick up a good issue or two. Interesting Hogwash here will Secret scan yer Alphabetical ears off, along with Milesov and his EmOneTwo. Big Brother Bruce keeps track of the Tricks turned along with any Anti action. DJ will Spook ya a bit as he whips out his magic potions, puts you in a spell and Mags you to death. Peg is the dancing queen and has a great Line for ya. Then Bdog will Hybrid it all together in an All Time High you snort so you won't know if you are flying or dying. Quite the trip. While the 56 crew checks out the scene and puts in their two cents, Dr. R lines up servings of Alphabet soup.

And speaking of lines... you may not have heard them all but there is the Magnet Line which one has to use correctly or you can sound rather Weak or Neutral, never getting the bar maids attention. Strong is the hip technique and lands the good T&A. The Money Line is a killer and makes you look like you have your ACT together. The Micro Line is for the sly and quick and of course last but not least is the Impossible Line. Impossible you say?

The place is a bit loud at times but a mere Incursion as it is mostly from the 89 Screaming Buy Signal. The Smasher makes quite a racket too. Comkey to think of it, the Powertool raises the decibles a couple notches too. The Rev 56 keeps the peace.

Ivan is the leader of the DeadCatBounce band and plays a wicked Flange. It's an instrument that uses the PGDCEB algo-rhythm and it definitely has an Attitude. They do an original tune called the "PEEP till you MEEP, just don't go to SLEEP" and Recycle it in with "Exhaustion Bottom". Sit back and enjoy the fear as they turn up the Volume Signal +1.

And if ya do get sleepy the 52 Wakeup is a good fix. Or try some T2. Or you can just crash your Base on Base if you are too Pasted. There are a few Rabbits that run around the joint chewing on Shark Fins but you can avoid them by using the L2 or just the regular Stop Loss Exit.

Things rarely get violent but the Seattle Kill and the Killer Momo have their moments. Some have been locked up for a night or two but we get the Jailbreak out for those occasions.

Even on a Nasty Down Day the Saloon Roc's, sprayed with Cat litter and tortured Pigdogs. Listen up if Cez breaks the cone of silence with his Short comings, a voice to be reckoned with.

You can play BB darts here with some of the spammers or just Flounder and fish around. Not to Diverge here, but, it is good Technical Target practice and it will sharpen your R&R.

If you Converge on the Mother Of All Scans or MOAS, you may see the mother of all loads.

If I told ya about the SG I'd hafta Seattle Kill ya.

If you join this group of computer degeneraters you may very well come up with your own creative method of madness to share with us or just say HA and eat your BLT.

If is used in many a scan.

So now that I have spilled the SumSum, MIM's the word...

Back in the chart room is where all the action is...
You need a special key to experience the chatterbox and it will cost ya some dues to break the code. It's well worth the few shekels for a plane ride with hotel/saloon layover, a few sleepless nights and a couple rounds of rum at the Roundtable for King VooDoo and his Stocknights...

It's a regular riot and so much more, and that sounds like a good scan to write...
