Re: 700+ MHz systems .... Perhaps 20-25% is more like it. Seems to be a reasonable percentage for 700MHZ+ processors, but don't forget that AMD can be expected to ship 15 to 20 million Athlons next year - none of which will be using rambus and almost all of which will be 700MHZ or higher (since they were getting some 700MHZ parts from their .25 process, there should be very few of the .18 parts that don't qualify for at least 700MHZ - and they're all .18 from AMD by the end of the year). VIA's initial production for Athlon chipsets is 14 million, and AMD and SIS will also be shipping Athlon chipsets. Now, AMD has a long history of production problems, but they've really gone out of their way to make this chip manufacturable - and it's been a very smooth roll out so far (for the chips, at least) That's 10% to 15% of the market being 700MHZ+ Athlons right there - so you may be back to 10-15% being a best case for rambus. aceshardware.com has links to support the VIA numbers, etc. Dan
