BEDFORD, Mass., November 10, 1999 – RSA Security Inc. (NASDAQ:

entire global network and all operating systems. In addition, the agreement
establishes an alliance between the two companies to collaborate on future

"When we decided to create a single, dynamic and universally accessible

to ensure that only authorized users gained entry to our system," said Charles
White, Global CIO at KPMG. "RSA Security is the recognized standard for

support our global security needs today and in the future."

"This agreement builds on the excellent relationships we have established with
many of KPMG's regional affiliates to forge a single, global corporate standard
at KPMG for two-factor authentication," said Scott Schnell, senior vice
president of marketing at RSA Security.

The agreement enables KPMG to deploy RSA ACE/Server software to an
unlimited number of users on any number of servers worldwide as part of
KPMG's globalization. It provides each of KPMG's remote users with a new
RSA SecurID key fob, and sets an automatic renewal and delivery process for
all existing tokens already deployed. In addition, KPMG signed a Premium
Support Program maintenance agreement, which includes a dedicated RSA
Security support team making scheduled on-site visits to reinforce KPMG's
development and training efforts.

In one of its primarily applications, RSA Security's SecurID authentication

...New RSA SecurID(R) Smart Card Protects Critical
PKI Digital Credentials Portable Credential Store
Designed to Combine Security With Convenience,
Double as Employee Badge and Building Access Card

BEDFORD, Mass., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Extending its family of industry-leading RSA SecurID® authentication solutions,
RSA Security Inc. (Nasdaq: RSAS - news) today delivered its new RSA SecurID 3100 Smart Card, designed to securely
store any combination of users' private digital credentials in an RSA Keon(TM) 5.0 Advanced PKI environment. The RSA
SecurID 3100 Smart Card is intended to provide the best way to provide user mobility and maintain the integrity of PKI-based
network security by preventing unauthorized access to these credentials through strong, two-factor user authentication, thus
ensuring that an individual presenting digital credentials as proof of identity is actually the rightful owner.

The RSA SecurID 3100 is designed to securely store two sets of 512- or 1024-bit RSA public and private cryptographic
keys, an RSA SecurID seed record, two X.509 v3 digital certificates, symmetric file encryption keys and network operating
system authentication information in a convenient, portable form factor that can double as an employee ID badge and building
access card. By presenting the card and entering the correct PIN, an individual can then use the credentials for encrypting local
or shared files, establishing secure, encrypted Web and e-mail sessions and accessing multiple applications. The RSA SecurID
3100 is designed to facilitate single sign-on to Novell NetWare and Microsoft Windows NT networks and offer remote access
to the RSA ACE/Server® component through the RSA Keon Desktop product.

''Although digital certificates provide digital authentication of specific communications and transactions, they are not fully secure
or reliable without strong user authentication,'' said Scott Schnell, senior vice president of marketing for RSA Security. ''The
new RSA SecurID 3100 Smart Card is an advanced product designed to provide customers with a convenient and flexible
means to promote company-wide security policies throughout an organization.''

In addition to serving as a secure, portable PKI credential store, the RSA SecurID 3100 is designed to be used as an
employee badge and building access card, reducing the number of cards an individual needs to carry around. Organizations can
custom order graphical identification on the smart card such as company logo and user name. Each smart card also
incorporates a magnetic stripe, which can be programmed for use with physical building access systems.

The RSA SecurID 3100 smart card is also designed to store the patented RSA SecurID seed record enabling it to work with
any RSA ACE/Server security solution, including applications for remote access (dial-up or VPN), local network access and
access to Web applications and other mission-critical applications. This solution is intended to offer the same high level of
security as any RSA SecurID authenticator, only now the process is integrated with a PKI credential store.

The RSA SecurID 3100 smart card supports ISO 7816 standards for smart cards, PC/SC Workgroup Specifications for
smart card readers and X.509 v 3 certificates, and is designed to work with any fully compliant PC/SC smart card reader,
including the Gemplus GCR410 Serial PC/SC Reader (available from RSA Security), the Gemplus GPR400 PC Card
(PCMCIA) Reader (available from RSA Security) and the Setec Setcad 203.
