You really don't have any idea how the system works.

Not long ago you told me your were powerless to change anything, you were only one person. Now you're telling me that if I want to change the system all I have to do is run for office (with, of course, no money, no access to media, etc.)

But then you don't seem troubled by the inconsistencies in other positions you take, either.

<<A democratic government simply cannot thwart the needs of the people and continue to exist. Thus there is no need for armed resistance.>> Well a democratic government may cease to exist via a power grab of some kind thus creating the need for armed resistance,no? Having said that I do agree that armed resistance would be futile. But what we must be thankful for is the brilliance of the founding fathers.Their ability to understand the potential for change created by a future that they couldn't possibly for see is shear genius. The ability to change[which acts as an pressure valve] the Constitution [with just the right amount of difficulty] , separation of powers, a civilian military [more or less] are all as important as the vote.........IMO.... There may well be an argument for guns as self defense....or not. I do not believe it's realistic to oppose gun control on the grounds of defense against a repressive government...I'm with you on this one!
