Connecticut has a strong Puritan tradition. Until the 70's it was still illegal to kiss your wife on a Sunday.

Of course it is idiotic to prosecute a doctor for disseminating information on the rhythm method. But a law like that should be changed from the bottom up, not the top down.

Pardon me if I'm being naive, but aren't laws written by representatives of the people and interpreted by the courts? A law that has been written by the people can be undone if the people demand it. They don't need pronunciamentos from on high.
