The dialogue was about many things, not just about American movies, music, television, etc. In any event, you claim that I "deplored them crowding out local culture." Indeed I did -- although let us be more specific here: I was talking about bad American movies, music, television, etc. I found your comment on that, in an earlier post, very odd indeed. It was that "people do not live to preserve cultures for our amusement." For our amusement?? How about for their amusement, or even edification? They are the ones who may lose an irrecoverable treasure. Neo, have you travelled much abroad? Some of the things you say make me wonder whether you ever have. Joan
