re: I2

The i2 product is software (called rhythm, written in proprietary language oil)... rhythm is advanced planning and optimization mostly. It talks to your trading partners and gets info that enables you to make manufacturing decisions. Not transaction based or anything.

Then there is the new tradematrix site/product...
tradematrix.com
Your guess is as good as mine as to what their intentions are with this... they are already connected (integrated, actually) to the erp so they have a leg up in a way if they want to implement purchasing... although cmrc has a totally outsourced solution which is superior ... but maybe not if I2 is already there?

I don't know who is leading or what approach will win out between cmrc,arba,i2,agil,orcl so I just buy them all. The only real commonality is that these are all back office, transaction based. Front office like calico will not benefit from this shift.
