Steve:

I'm in total agreement. In fact, I've been forecasting (as usual, way too early) that Linux could blast MSFT's OS into oblivion if a bit of impetus takes hold. This is what Comdex is hinting at to me.

MSFT, which I've resolutely advised against shorting or even put optioning (because of their enormous "cookie jar" deferred revenue situation and because of the massive cash pouring in from the employee option scam) is now slowly but surely moving on to the radar screen. The government boys have got the milking machine primed and oiled, a break-up is inevitable now, which should bring the employee option balloon out into the open (they will have to allocate it to the separate new companies) and Linux may be in the birthing process. "Big Bill" is wise to continue to "diversify his portfolio". (g)

Best, Earlie
