OT?

How's this for an explosion in cost reduction!!! It seems that CPQ's decision to build its ASP presence was pretty swell.

...the Federal Communications Commission voted Thursday to require major local phone companies to share their lines with data carriers...

In English, what this means is that all ISPs will now be on the same footing with the RBOCS or dsl will cost now about 35 dollars per month.

victor, just in US for now.

Thanks for the update Victor. Hard to see how the telecom firms will be able to keep the 'dam from breaking' much longer. Sounds like a great way for the politicians to get some mileage out of this. Politicians here seem to constantly promote the wiring of US schools and the importance of the internet as an educational tool. Aren't their counterparts in England making the same kinds of noises??

Regards,
John

Vic--- I never complained about the charges to the second line or the $20 for a GREAT ISP (IBM bought out by AT&T) or for the charges to MyTrack,,, but all that is less than $150 Month-- at $1K I'd be a screaming SOB,, instead of just a regular SOB,,,
