I'd be more than happy to work with you to get you up to speed a little quicker with PnF. Do you have Tommy's book? It is an easy read and you will have a good general knowledge before getting into the charts. We have a Dorsey Wright thread where I post charts with comments on support, resistance etc. I try and teach as well as answer questions. It is an easy methodology to learn but admittedly it does take some practice. We'll have a discussion about RT PnF with Tommy this weekend to get his take on it. I don't know how the programming works and really don't want to know. The database at DWA is huge. Reproducing it would be difficult. With the new feature of different box sizes there is no reason to collect your own data. It is all there. Although, charting your own stocks on a regular basis does keep you in touch with the patterns etc. The database also has all of the market charts too which I'd never want to try and chart by hand.
