Truedog, Not MY words, those were Words of God. (oh and the words of the song were Jamie Owens-Collins) But you are correct. All of Private Ryans brothers were killed in battle, but there was a WHOLE WORLD at war around him... It is certainly interesting to note that although there were Americans fighting in the WW, not ALL were Americans!

It's also interesting to note that he could not possibly believe any of the Scriptures, only the actual words of God. I really like your analogy, "Private Ryan was saved because a dedicated group of soldiers suffered hardship, and ultimately, death, to see that this young man could be returned to he mother who had already lost far too many sons.
