There are tours, of course. Type "d-day beaches" into the query box on Alta Vista. I much prefer to set my own pace and concentrate on my own interests. I took the train from Paris to Caen and then a rental car along the coast. That was an all day deal (including a very pleasant lunch at the seaside -- but not a visit to the fabulous museum in Caen). We drove on to Mont St Michelle for the evening and spent the morning doing the tourist thing. Returned rental car in Renne and took train back to Paris. There is also bus transportation along the coast. Don't miss it if your plans and time allow.
