Burt,

Nice post about how far the industry has come.

Regarding:
<So the nyah-nyah-nyahing about lateness is understandable given the money that rides on each new device, but it's been pretty mean spirited on both sides and that's a shame. >

A long time back I was a designer too and I know how these things happen. All I point to is Intel's inability of late to get CPUs out on time. This industry is very unforgiving and many a company got buried because of poor execution. Of course, Intel, by the virtue of its prior position is under no such threat but they have provided competition with a phenomenal opportunity because of their mis-steps.

I am sorry if that sounds mean but, IMHO, I try to be civil during the give-and-take on this thread.

At the end of the day we are all here on this thread to make more money (or kill time) and I don't particularly see any "meanness" in occasional gloating that happens on the thread. Yeah, sometimes things can be rough but this is a public forum and you get the entire distribution.

Frankly, IMHO, the most mean-spited postings on this thread come from Paul so I was a little surprised that this was addressed to me.
