Since 1909 it has been an annual tradition at Texas A&M to build
a huge bonfire that's burned the evening before the Thanksgiving
game against the University of Texas. It's a 50-foot structure
made of tree logs. Last night a large pile of upright logs collapsed,
and so far 8 students are dead.

This in only the second time in 91 years that the bonfire has
been cancelled. The other was in '63, several days after the
JFK assassination.
