Markus, Strangers---Aliens.... The Greek word in 1Peter "stranger" is "paroikos" which implies a foreigner, or sojourner. In the Hebrew letter the word stranger is "xenos" which also implies a guest or stranger. Have you ever traveled to a distant country by yourself, and for awhile everything is great; the scenery, the food, some nice folks some not, but then after a while, you are ready to come home. Wherever you are visiting is not really YOUR home. It is that thought in the scriptures, IMO that we are to live on this earth , always being prepared to go "home" and being happy for the day, because we are just here for a little short time. After all , what is 60-70 -80 years compared to ETERNITY? Same principle applies to "stuff" we buy and buy and buy because we have money and want satisfaction......have you ever been completely still within your soul over a TV? or a boat? SOMETHING is still longing inside that you do not have yet......ahhh yes to go home to family. To the Father........we are indeed..... Children of the Heavens Holy hands, Touch us with Your tender touch Remove the web of fear that clouds Our site on things above. And let us not forget the reason That Your Son was crucified; For you wanted us back home so bad, You dared to let Him die. We are children of the heavens Once lost but now we're found, We're strangers in this world because We know we're heaven bound. Though darkness try to hide it YOU made sure the Truth was known, We are children of the heavens And You're calling us back home. Holy Arms, Keep us locked in Your embrace; protect us from the wickedness, that hates Your saving grace, And let us keep our eyes on Jesus And tell others there's a way To return with Him to heaven When He comes that final day!
