History has proved that the dominant OS in terms of applications support does not necessarily survive a paradigm shift.

I agree in general with your message, and I agree particularly with the quoted statement. It's a good summary of the discussion. I'm also happy to see that you finally recognize the importance of the "applications history" which, in other words, is called the "applications barrier to entry."

But does the FOF recognize this? Of course it does. Recognition of what happens in this kind of paradigm shift or epochal period is central to the findings. Competitors to the dominant OS identified a way to overcome the "applications history" of the dominant OS by inserting themselves between the OS and a new class of applications, much as Windows had been inserted onto the dominant system, DOS.

The case centers on those actions taken by the owner dominant system to fend off these competitive attacks.
