Qualcomm CEO Jacobs on Handset Sale, Outlook:
Company Comment

New York. Nov. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Qualcomm Inc. Chairman and Chief Executive Irwin Jacobs comments at the Warburg Dillon Read
Telecom Conference in New York. Qualcomm, based in San Diego, developed code-division multiple access, or CDMA, the world's No. 2 cell-phone technology after GSM.

''We have, to date, been building phones. We, as you know, have started negotiations to sell that division. Those
negotiations are proceeding well. We are at the moment just waiting for the last few offers. So we'd ask for just a little bit more time. We still hope to conclude that agreement before the end of the year. It will probably be sometime in the calendar first quarter before we have a closing.''
