I got if off the SI "Quiet Period" thread.

Question... somewhat off topic but related to IPO issues.

Not having followed the UPS IPO to any particular degree, I'm wondering if any of these brokerage firms actually participated in the underwriting of the IPO.

If not, it may be a sign that they are trying to unload stock positions, or may have accumulated too much stock in their trading accounts.

I find it strange that 4 different firms suddenly start recommending UPS when FDX is left by the wayside.

Of could it merely be that they are recommending the stock in order to collect the .30 dividend for Nov 29th shareholders of record?

Any thoughts out there?

Regards,

Ron
