Hi Pigboy,

I got the feeling he felt FC was completely done in forever, before it even got off the ground. But I think there's at least a growing niche for it with SAN.

I agree with him that IP will rule and 10 gigabit Ethernet will eventually be deployed successfully. Some of the stuff he suggested will take time.

I bet he would argue that crowding the net with NAS devices eventually wouldn't be an issue. Some people's interpretation of Gilder's law is sort of like some people's interpretation of Moore's law - some people prematurely predict the end of the need for more powerful microprocessors just like some people prematurely predict the end of the need for more bandwidth. So far, CSCO and INTC have been going up and I don't see people pulling out of either in a major way.
