Hi Mike, no I haven't seen the add. I've been relatively T.V. less since we only have one in the bedroom now. Decided the kids would be better off without it. They seem to be happy enough watching tapes, which we can control the content of better.

The reason the company pays you to surf is to entice you to download the advertisement banner program. Paying people for their time online, and anyone who signs up under them, in a multi-level marketing concept, has caused the explosion of their usage. So you not only get paid to surf yourself, but you also get paid a small percentage of whomever surf's that signed up using your ID. It's exactly like "found money" because it's completely free! The only thing it costs is 1 inch on your computer screen and 1.7 megabits of hardrive space. The thing is though, when you tell people how it works, they initially get these weird "anti-Amway feelings" and believe they're getting roped into something ugly. It's one of the reasons "unlearning what you have learned" is one of my favorite quotes. You're challenging people to re-think an ingrained mental model. Tough for a lot of people to do.

It would be interesting to see the financial models they are using to determine the long term fiscal health of such an enterprise. It's entirely possible, with the valuation models so out of site with net companies, that it wouldn't matter short term with regard to the stock price though.

Having millions upon millions of users using your product seems to be the main valuation criteria right now. I would imagine such a company like AllAdvantage.com could, if they desired down the road, leverage their customers and launch their own product sites. Such as an auction house or any number of things.

It will definitely be an interesting development to watch in the coming few years. If they make it work, a HUGE paradigm will have shifted. Where it will lead is anybodies guess.
