MS - You could be right. I didn't want to give that impression, because there are so many other legitimate possibilities. It would be unfortunate if we got all psyched up when Hatim was just takin' care of business.
But, there is some reason to believe that his absence is the precursor to good news.
Nothing is harder to interpret than silence!

Regards, Jim

I agree. This is the calm before the storm. The news and tidbits of information from Hatim will not be available for at least another week, maybe two.

We should be back on the fast track before the Christmas break. A birdie told me (without details) that the staff is scrambling to meet a deadline in Dec 99. Unfortunately I couldn't get the nature of the deadline.

Still digging,

Dingo

It's been a pleasure having HATIM on this and other discussion forums, but IMO, his participation will soon be coming to an end.

As Wi-LAN continues to grow and develop into a much larger wireless player, we'll lose Hatim because:

a) he simply won't have the time to follow and properly contribute to the forums
b) it will cease to be "appropriate"
c) it will become too dangerous from a competitive viewpoint, or, during negotiations
d) it will become too dangerous from a legal viewpoint (esp. liability)
e) WIN will be bought out by someone who will nix his further participation

We've had a unique opportunity to interact directly with the CEO of our company -- without the usual, careful screening by legal and PR staff. His posts were always well thought out, straightforward, highly informative, and with no BS.

Thanks Hatim.

PS: Hatim: Remember to sell off a few WIN/CLQ shares so you can enjoy the fruits of your hard work and vision.
