I kept the jar and the vine and everything going for most of a year, at least.

I kept my sweet potato growing all through one winter....and then I moved it out onto the lawn to the base of where the birdbath was... there was a big mound of earth and sod there.

By the end of summer, the potato vine had covered the entire little hill... In fall, I dug it up and found a bunch of smaller sweet potatoes linked to the main one... it was pretty exciting...to me, that is... ;-}
