Interesting Daniel. I think you have misinterpreted this piece.
It is quite plain to me that Neil Peart was a major investor in Ericy
Leaps and bought their CDMA expertise hook, line and sinker. I have
provided the correct translation below.

Bravado (Lyrics by Neil Peart)

If we burn our wings Sun = Qualcomm
Flying too close to the sun

If the moment of glory Ericy forced to settle
Is over before it's begun with QCOM

If the dream is won --
Though everything is lost

We will pay the price, Must pay royalties to QCOM
But we will not count the cost

----

When the dust has cleared Customers see the truth

A summit too lofty Chiprate too high
River a little too wide Bandwidth too wide

If we keep our pride -- QCOM agrees to protect Ericy
Though paradise is lost reputation for capitulation

We will pay the price, QCOM royalties (again)
But we will not count the cost

---

And if the music stops Ericy customers learn
There's only the sound of the rain the truth of EDGE & GPRS

All the hope and glory
All the sacrifice in vain

If the love remains Love of profit & prestige
Though everything is lost denied

We will pay the price, More QCOM royalties
But we will not count the cost
