I would expect you to know the meaning of hate. You seem to have a lot of it to pass around.

Brian, I know the difference between love and hate... vengence is mine saith the lord... he leaves us faith hope and love though... please don't mix my words with anyone elses again (and I appologize to Chris and you for doing this to you both) Well, there you go again... picking a verse that self justifies itself and changing it to meet your need. 1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. It talks in a circle. Read it. It's self justifiing if you want to take it that way. But I don't. Why? Because that is not what it is about. This passage is not about people divided before life. It is about explaining why some people leave the flock. It is AN EXPLANATION. Can a chosen one have a child who is not? That is what the above is about. In Romans you claim to have found that predestiny => called => justified => glorified. And the statement taken BY ITSELF would seem to support that idea. But if you read at the beginning of that verse it is really talking about those who LIVE, as in "take an active life"; Putting their MINDS on the SPIRIT. CHOOSING TO LIVE AS JESUS DID!!!! Your final analysis totally ignores or uses the end to justify the beginning.... why have the beginning at all? You must think it was put in there for no apparent reason. Let me ask you another question: how does one SUBMIT to GOD?(V 7) IS IT SIMPLY DONE? or do you choose to submit? If taken correctly, from beginning to end we see (easily) that if we LIVE according to God's law, He will Glorify our beings. If taken bass ackwards as you love to do it means that we will live as God makes us live... this is BACKWARD to the way ALL THE SCRIPTURES ARE WRITTEN!!! -maouse ps. I think you're pretty right on about god being able to Hate... I wonder if monu is into bondage? LOL no offense monu... just wanted that whole "painful love" idea out in the open... LOL ;)
