I just called Dreyfus and customers can only leg into spreads online. Schwab's new interface allows *spread orders* for net debit or credit. That's nice and I just cannot understand why all online option order entry screens can't do the same thing.
I think Ameritrade said they were trying to do the very same thing, and may have beaten SCH to it. (I find it odd that SCH is actually ahead of the game here. I know they were early onto the scene w/ their Streetsmart software--ahhh, the good old days :-)--but I always thot their user interfaces were a little quirky... but their online spread order screens actually look logical and clean)
