Aug 31, 1999 patent 5,945,232 (PEM-type fuel cell assembly having multiple parallel fuel cell sub-stacks employing shared fluid plate assemblies and shared membrane electrode assemblies) Nov 9, 1999 patent 5,981,098 (Fluid flow plate for decreased density of fuel cell assembly) Nov 16, 1999 patent 5,985,474 (Intergrated full processor, furnace, and fuel cell system for providing heat and eletrical power to a building) See patents.uspto.gov The patent abstract appears to describe a unit that will function as a ordinary heating furnace and a fuel cell to provide electic for the building. A new duel purpose component in the basement? With a little effort, will an add on component provide hot water?
