Speaking of Nortel, I now have a Nortel Meridian 9617 USB TAPI phone connected to my home office PC which is running their messaging software (PCM). Works great except it won't dial the darned phone (which is what I bought it to do).

From what I have observed so far this week, Nortel's Consumer Products division technical support mechanisms needs a bit of improvement. Spent 45 minutes with a level II tech a few evenings ago and am patiently awaiting the promised call back. No responses to 2 e-mails, their web site (for consumer products) sucks ... can't register the phone and software there as the manual says to do, etc.

Pardon the rant. The problems may lie with TAPI or USB or combo of both. There aren't a lot of TAPI devices on the market and not a lot of info in Microsoft's Knowledge base on the subject of TAPI. Hope I can get the critter working as the product has gotten rave reviews.

Interesting that I bought the Nortel product through Dell (Gigabuys OEM subsidiary).
