11/18/99 - Network-1 Security Solutions Teams With RSA Security to Enhance PKI Security
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WALTHAM, Mass., Nov 18, 1999 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

Network-1's CyberwallPLUS-SV (TM) to provide enhanced network
access control and intrusion prevention for Windows NT-based RSA
Keon(TM) Certificate Server software

Network-1 Security Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:NSSI), a leading developer of next generation distributed firewalls, with intrusion detection/prevention capabilities, announced today that the Company will offer its CyberwallPLUS-SV product as a value-added software solution to provide additional network security "hardening" functions for the RSA Keon(TM) Certificate Server software running on Windows NT. Network-1 has also become a member of the RSA Secured strategic partner program and its CyberwallPLUS-SV product has achieved "RSA Secured(TM) Keon Ready" certification.

Network-1 and RSA Security have conducted compatibility testing of the two products and Network-1 will provide specific security templates for RSA's Keon Certificate server, as it does for LDAP servers, DNS servers and others.

Network-1's CyberwallPLUS product installs on Windows NT-based servers to provide network access controls and protection against port scans, denial-of-service attacks, and other intrusions. The addition of CyberwallPLUS to Windows NT servers gives users an added layer of network security in RSA Keon public key infrastructure environments.

"We are pleased to welcome Network-1 to the RSA Secured strategic partner program and look forward to working with the company to further promote enhanced security for PKI installations," said Scott Schnell, senior vice president of marketing for RSA Security.

"The easiest way to negate a mission critical authentication server is to kill the NT server where it resides. This is typically accomplished through a 'denial-of-service' attack, where packets are sent to the server in an attempt to flood the system, overload its memory and make it either shut down or freeze up," said Avi Fogel, president and CEO, Network-1 Security Solutions, Inc. "CyberwallPLUS-SV provides value-added security by protecting the protectors. We expect joint customers to benefit from the enhanced network security they will receive from CyberwallPLUS-SV."

As an NT server embedded firewall, CyberwallPLUS-SV substantially hardens Windows NT servers and protects mission critical applications residing on Windows NT. By operating at the kernel level of an NT server's architecture, CyberwallPLUS-SV can also be distributed through numerous servers - allowing for high scalability and optimum performance. CyberwallPLUS-SV enables system administrators to integrate rich network firewalling and intrusion prevention capabilities. CyberwallPLUS-SV for NT Server is high performance kernel-mode code with stateful inspection and intrusion detection and prevention, which allows Windows NT to close its greatest security holes and vulnerabilities. It installs in minutes, applies rule changes dynamically without rebooting, and allows for local or remote management. CyberwallPLUS-SV supports over 4,500 different protocols including IP, IPX, SNA, DecNet, and AppleTalk, among others.

What did you do with INPH, or did you stop out? I thought we'd see more news out of these guys during Comdex.
