The new American "Cracker Jack" dollar coin: New US dollar coin to make its premier in Cheerios New York--Nov 18--Although the US Mint doesn't plan to ship its new dollar coin to the Federal Reserve until Mar 1, 2000, consumers may be able to get hold of a coin sooner by buying a box of Cheerios. Starting in January, General Mills will include pennies minted in the year 2000 in its Cheerios cereal box.
