Paul, I agree, I think the poor lease rates is due to lack of willing players. I too believe the gold leased to the BOE was just so they can play out their "sale". I don't think all the Fed has been deeply involved in the manipulation, rather just a small faction with-in the Fed. Watch for departures of Clinton appointees after the next administration comes in, or slightly before if it becomes clear Gore ain't in & Hillary fails.

They may very well be able to stabilize the price into Y2K but beyond that point and a little post Y2K liquifying? i would say gold will probably take off mid to end feb.

Paul,

Do you mean to imply that, if Y2K fails to create the economic disruptions that many fear it will, that very little of that physical gold/gold coins that has been purchased will be resold back into the markets and converted back into more liquid assets (like cash)?

I think it will prove interesting to see what actually occurs, both with regard to Y2K, and with the POG.
