So now you are saying that what Otellini says is the truth. I have been hearing a lot here recently about how misleading he has been. I don't know what he would say, but anyone with an open mind would look at what has happened to Intel's attitude since Athlon's launch and come to the conclusion that Intel's attention is more focused now.

Everyone on this thread seems to be of the opinion that Athlon IS different from the "486 and 386" days. I agree with them. I was around then, and in my opinion, Intel's response and attitude is also different. What the outcome will be is a different question.
