BadKarma, in answer to your question: Yes, my search did end with Christ. Like Peter, 'till this day I find myself saying, "Where can we go Lord, you have the words of eternal life."

O.T. Concerning gays, I also have had a few friends from this background. Two things on this: First, I believe many christians are cruel at times and judge their "sin" as worse than fornication, adultery etc. This is wrong. Second, I also think it is wrong to have a "live and let live" mentality. The wages of sin for this particular lifestyle are devastating, and I believe christians have a duty to tell the truth. Hearing from the "gay" side, I've come to realize that many are hurting in the church. Most straights (yes, I am and have always been heterosexual) do not fellowship enough with them (the ones who recognize their sin and are trying to live according to God's word) and instead leave them to others who have suffered from that lifestyle, which depending on the individual, can just add to his temptation.

Christians need to reach out more and not polarize this particular group. Again, I am not condoning the behaviour. I just realize it is more complicated than many will acknowledge and the last thing they need is insensitivity.

BadKarma,

It's interesting how similarly different we are. Your experiences led you away from christianity while mine always leads back to Roman Catholic Christianity... I would like to share with you a little about other religions, as hopefully you are versed at least in your current faith. Personally I find it fascinating that statues would drink milk! Miracles do happen within other religions, I think it is quite interseting... (but also realize that besides some chinese sects Catholics are typically the only ones who can still do exercisms) :)

ps. where do you think this "power to do miracles" comes from?
