PE Ratio

RE:"Whether by dismemberment or by slow bleeding, whether by suffocation from the weight of government overseers or by mutual agreement to a consent decree, the method of execution is no more than a popular topic for speculation at this point. But the how doesn't really matter. Judge Jackson has branded Microsoft as a monopoly, and done so in such a way that his finding will not wash off." CNN (11-19-99)

So, if this is in fact the case, what will the new PE be?

Hal

PS: I'm presuming that earnings will have to grow somewhat over the next 6-18 months to support the current share price. Then up it goes. Right?

taxman ---like any other analyst you take what they say with a grain of salt . The real issue is when Msft is going to settle the issue with the DOJ --they have a tendency not to leave when they think they have you over the barrel . If you read the article I posted it sounds like MSFT is going to try to drag this out until the issue is negated by time . The only problem I have with this is that I hope the stock is not lock in a trading range during the next year or so while this drags out . The bottom line for us is make our investments grow and reduce this waste of taxpayers money

taxman ---Maybe we can use this logic to help the stock move ---it works for IBM ---"A strong gain by International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM - news) pulled the Dow in the other direction. IBM was
up 6-3/8 at 104-1/8.

''It was just beat up so much,' Ned Collins, head of trading

at Daiwa Securities America said of IBM. ''It just looks like with so much money coming into the market, people were just
looking for something new.'"
