Need a top to bottom OS and server CPU line ; INTC w/NT is a Trojan Horse

Its been over 5 years and LVG may have forgotten he needed 5 index cards to turn on the IBM terminals in his Armonk office when he arrived on the (John Akers') job .

RE: The SUNW article

No way did IBM marketing not see the order slow-down in 2Q99 and appointing Sammy P in 3Q99 as server boss, who also has a PC background , is indicative .

However the OS time is ripe for IBM with the DOJ hounding MSFT , plus the PowerPC (MicroProcessor) effort in IBM seems finally to be bubbling to the top .

IMHO the new IBM OS won't be LINUX or even Monterey (SCO) but a scalable Enterprise offering that runs on the PowerPC and Power4 , with some of the OS technology acquired from recently purchased SQNT .

Ideally IBM soon finds a simple to run client (desktop) OS so customer executive users will not need LVG index cards also .

Waiting to add by nibbling .

Nobody asked and nobody will ,
so FWIW,
Jim K.
