I haven't followed this company for a few months. I'd say the article you reference has nothing to do with it. It's only an adjustment of CCU's debt/equity ratio (depending on how the converts play out).

I think the article referenced by Dr. Epstein is part of the answer. I also think there is a delayed reaction to the Nov. 16 news regarding Emmis taking a stake in BuyItNow.com (the stock did not do much that day, oddly). A lot of heavies are investing in it, and the possibility of E4L having a stake in a hot IPO -- which these items and insider buying all point to -- is probably what's driving the price. For the price, the risk/reward is starting to look attractive.

I may take another look myself.
