Thanks Veiko. I'm genuinely amazed at what I've found in looking deeper into this company. To be straight-forward about it, the attention this company got in the past week because of the stock movement is what initially caught my eye. Then the news of the company's association with Nocom - and WAP usage - got my further interest and made me want to do some more research here. Geez, where has this gem been hiding? <G>cnetinvestor.com [excerpts]Innovative Telecommunications Companies Embrace Centura Software's Embedded Data Management Solutions 8/26/99 2:00:00 PM Source: PR Newswire Centura Delivers Proven Reliability, Cross-Platform Capability and RTOS Support for the Demanding Telecommunication Equipment Market REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Centura Software Corporation (Nasdaq: CNTR), leader in secure, embedded micro and e-business databases and development solutions for Internet Appliances and intelligent devices, continues its dominance within the telecommunications equipment market, a market that is expected to grow to $152.6 billion by 2001. Studies conducted by the Telecommunications Industry Association indicate increased spending for telecommunications equipment specifically in the areas of switching, computer and IP telephony, signaling, transmission equipment, and network and systems management technology -- all segments where Centura has demonstrated its expertise. Centura's solutions are deployed by NetMoves, SATTEL Global Networks and others. ...Zero Administration / Zero Down-Time Centura's support for multiple database models, a hallmark of Centura's RDM and Velocis Database Server(TM), provided the desired solution for NetMoves ( netmoves.com ). NetMoves, an international leader in Internet faxing, recognized the benefits inherent in Centura's technology and successfully integrated Velocis into their Internet Fax Processing in the U.S. and Japanese markets. Jeff Young, Systems Development Manager for NetMoves, explains that both performance and zero administration requirements were key considerations in choosing the RDM database. "Velocis' performance, as well as its fault tolerance and low maintenance requirements, make it the appropriate embedded data management choice for our remote switches," said Young. In addition to focusing on performance-enhancing features, Centura's data management technology also supports the telecommunications mandate of "no down-time." Such an operating premise is necessary for robust operations where recoverability plays an integral role for the telecommunication industry when choosing telecommunication equipment. Fault detection and recovery modes that can protect the database in the event of system failure are additional factors to be considered. Centura's RDM has the two-fold ability of detecting errors stemming from system failure and then guaranteeing and its autorecovery feature. cnetinvestor.com [excerpts]Centura's RDM Data Management Solution Now Supports Palm Computing(R) Platform Palm Developers Can Now Leverage Centura's Proven and Reliable Information Appliance Computing Data Management Solution 10/25/99 5:04:00 AM Source: PR Newswire REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Centura(TM)Software Corporation (Nasdaq: CNTR), leader in e-business and Information Appliance databases and development solutions, announced today its support of the Palm Computing platform.
