If your shrink ever got ahold of this thread, he/she'd either want to join in, or wouldn't be very cool, IMO. This is more fun than just about anything.

Synchronicity. Today I slept until after 2 p.m., and felt like everything was black, while I was sleeping. I kept dreaming of blackness, and thinking to myself, I am dreaming of blackness, and then would dream of more blackness, it got to three or four layers of dreaming of blackness. And when I woke up, felt like I had been hit on the head, and was very, very groggy. Hard time waking up.

Came into the office eventually, and returned phone calls. One from a lady with sleep apnea, who is ticked off because she had a sleep study, and the doctor said she needs a BPAP machine, which is more expensive than a CPAP machine ($2300 vs. $780), and the insurance co. won't give it to her without a copy of the sleep study and the clinic can't find it, and they won't even give her the CPAP machine and they won't pay for another sleep study.

Listening to her talk, I could hear that she was tired, and also having a little difficulty breathing, which sounded just like my own voice when I've heard it lately, and I said to myself, *bingo.*

Just called Kaiser and made an appointment, said I think I have sleep apnea.

One interesting thing, she said she has fibromyalgia, and that you only produce serotonin in REM sleep, and you need serotonin for pain, and without REM sleep, you suffer more pain. And I have been hurting more lately, as well as just feeling groggy all the time.
