Charity web site... Thanks for the great web site. I checked out my two favorite charities, and they are listed there. If any of you have had a FANTASTIC year, and need a tax deduction...here are two very worthwhile organizations to consider. Both of these groups are making a difference in their communities. My third favorite charity is Guide Dogs for the Blind...but it is an organization that is very successful in its fundraising efforts. My two favorite charities are: Hope and Home, 103 East Cheyenne Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80906 (719) 575-9887, E-mail: hopeand home@uswest.net Hope and Home is a new, recently established program to place special children (usually older children) in a safe, loving, and permanent home. Children are placed with "Special Friends"..this program is somewhat like Big Brothers/Big Sisters, but the goal is to find a permanent adoptive home for these children. Special Friends are volunteers hoping to make a positive difference in the life of a child. Quite a few children have already been placed in permanent homes thanks to this program. Contact-Care Center, P.O. Box 901, Lafayette, CA 94549 (925) 284-2207 is a 24 hour crisis/helpline serving the S.F. Bay Area. They have a Senior Reassurance Phone line, a Teen-To-Teen Hotline, education programs, and a Community Food Depot. Contact-Care@silcon.com (This is one of the few crisis/hotlines that has a phone line staffed by trained teens. Teen suicide has been a growing problem, as well as teen violence...this program hopefully helps teens deal with some of the problems they are facing.) Hope everyone has a great weekend! Libbyt
