L, free handsets with the "pre-loaded" calls = similar to disposable cameras, once the pre-installed film is used up. I'd have to mull that one over in terms of what it means for the economics and commoditization of ASICs (maybe the phones get re-loaded instead of disposed?) and royalty rates on non-disposables. I guess this would also be analogized to broadband and data, the cheaper it comes, the more they will use--price elasticity. Pretty wild to contemplate.

slacker, better to have open and non-discriminatory terms, especially i) since Q has probably a 12- to 18-month lead time on ASIC development and ii) if Q has another HDR up its sleeve waiting in the HDR wings.

Best to both you qualwarts (stal....).
