JG, I hope I will be pleased with the cable modem, and ISP access thru @Home. I really find it hard to believe it could be any worse than AOL. Comcast used to be Storer in my area. IMHO, Comcast is heads and shoulders above Storer. Let me give you a small example. A couple of months ago, I upgraded my cable service to the "several hundred channel" digital service. (With 12 HBO channels) After about a week, we could not receive any digital channels. There were little tiny boxes all over the screen. I called Comcast to report the problem. This was around lunch time. The dispatcher told me they would have a service tech check it out the next day. (a Saturday) Later that evening, we got a call from Comcast. The person asked, "Is your cable service back?" We checked it, and sure enough it was. I thanked them for the prompt service. Ther next day, again a Saturday, a service tech arrived. I explained that we had reported a problem, but it had been resolved. I need to state now that I am what I consider to be a "jack of all trades". But some of them, I am not a master at. I had done some of my own cable service, because they used to charge for each TV hookup. I was too tight to pay for more than one TV. I figured "service was service", like a telephone. Now that is the case. But it wasn't then. Anyway, back to my story. The technician proceeded to replace my Radio Shack splitters and cables on the outside of my home. She asked if we were experiencing any problems with reception on the TV's not hooked to the digital service. I stated that there were a few channels that were fuzzy. She advised me that I had used the wrong cable to hook up the other three TV's. She stated that since I had hooked them up, and was experiencing problems, they would correct my screw-ups for free. The tech was here yesterday. He redid all of my wiring. No Charge. Now that's what I call service. Have fun, Phil
