I personally believe Qualcomm is Intel, Microsoft, and Cisco all rolled into one... not ENOUGH is made of it !!!

Intel:
we got CDMA chipsets, like Pentiums... got licensed mfrs including Intel itself... all phones will have them, all handheld PC's will have them, all automobile map devices will have them

Microsoft:
not fully realized yet since the system software platform has yet to emerge... but it will since we need a traffic cop to control all microbrowser, internet, email, file transfer protocols... this platform will eventually become of supreme importance, much like Windows is now... application software developers will be releasing all kinds of neat stuff not fully imagined now

Cisco:
(not an expert here) but it seems that High Data Rate will transmit, route, switch, and handoff just like networking among computers... HDR cannot just be for transmission... it has to handle handoffs to Wireless ISP's, eventually routing to fiberoptic backbones... in time, QCOM might maintain a tight hold on a standard for the "wireless internetworking"

GONNA BE BIG AND VERY DIVERSE IN SCOPE
