TP -
or were you lucky?

Lucky, mostly. There was some thought to it... but nothing very deep. I put $30K into a very high risk play (1000 of the Nov 22.5 CPQKX) when they dropped to 1/4 in November. Could have easily eaten that one but WTH, only $30K... The CPQAD Jan 20s seemed like a safe bet at 5/8, since Xmas is always good for CPQ and I could probably roll them if things got dicey. $62.5K got 1000 contracts.

In addition, I sold PFE at 39.5 and bought 1000 Jan '01 20s ZKPAD - that was a way to buy a larger position without putting up all the capital. Got them between 4 and 4 1/2, average 4.35...

As far as knowing the in's and out's of CPQ, if I really knew that, I would have sold my position at 50 last January... but perhaps I will come out OK after all. With these option plays, I will be whole against that Jan 50 position if we get back into the 30's.
