You two are doing a good job of seriously discussing some of the financial issues. Keep it up. As someone much smarter than me once said, "The truth shall set you free."

I wish I had the ability to discuss the matter with the both of you.
But I don't.
However, I appreciate ALL the viewpoints discussed on this thread, Both for and against Lucent.

Thanks for the leg work.

Chuzzle, I did not mean to be very critical of you. But, if you monetize your prior sales now by other means like securitizing and selling the A/R and get cash, it is as good as getting cash by selling as long as it is in US dollars.

The problem comes when someone does creative reporting like fictitious customers and sales like Cendant. LU is not selling 5 dollar items. Big ticket items always involved financing by various leasing companies. When I buy a Lexus, Bank takes the lease and gives cash to the Company sometimes Lexus finances the vehicle. As long as they get cash, does it matter if I pay cash now or someone pays cash and I lease from them. WHat LU does is similar but at a bigger level.

Thanks for your input. I am a very long term investor with 5-10 year horizon.

Good luck
BR

Chuzzlewit and Mr. Fun, Like Pat, I do not have the ability to discuss this topic and would like to thank you both for an enlightening, civil conversation. Brian
