I have a bunch of different Lan cards in my computers. Nothing high end. They all work fine. Go with the cheapest brand name you can find (for future driver support)

The only real thing semi-good with Win98 SE is the internet sharing. You may be better off with Wingate or one of the other sharing programs mentioned in this forum previously.

The cards must have the same video chip to work. The cards themselves don't have to be from the same company. That's what I found on my system. I'm using 2 PCI cards. You can just leave the two cards in your current system alone and pick up a new card for the new system.
