Kevin, I don't think the major players will give up their day off to try to trap speculators. . .I think the cats will be away, leaving our mouses to play. The big question is this. . . which sector will get the mania? Last year, it was mostly E-commerce and internet content. . . BAMM, GERN, KTEL, GRIN and SIEB were most notable. China is too far extended. . .not much more money to squeeze from that. . so what is next. . this is what I have been asking about for several days.

E-tailing for Christmas is a possibility. . .I think that retailers will get some rotation this week. But what are we missing? What will get speculators excited. We need to know NOW, so we can take positions early. Perhaps taking a look at recent stocks that have run hard on low float. . . but have pulled back or are getting overshorted. . .

Still looking for some ideas in this area. . . by Wednesday it will be too late.

Your recitation of the events of the Friday and Monday after Thanksgiving last year is very interesting and helpful--another factor which may very well contribute to volatility is that more and more online investors are using 4 week, monthly, and "last Friday of the month" rotations ( sell the old/buy the new day)
in their mechanical investing ports--some of those ports are showing annual returns of 400%, 500% and even 600% year to date this year --and next Friday is THE big day for most of these. Investors who have made no purchases all month will be looking to trade that day and that day only.
