I agree but the reason why a warning occurs after the market closes is because the market is closed. I do believe that if you were to call your broker and try to cancel your exercise, they would say too late. But, I have never been in that situation. So, I can't say I know for sure. Just my guess. I do know that if you did nothing and the call "closed" three points in the money, you would be exercised automatically.
