*OT* I have written here a few times about the shortage of recruits. Manning is at ridiculously low levels and the military is having a hard time over coming this shortage. They tried technology and catch phrases like "do more with less" but trouble really hit this last year or so. Couple the lack of people with Clinton sending us off to fight diversionary battles to get the press off his back every time he gets caught with his pecker in someone other than his wife and the troops we do have are abandoning ship in droves. I myself have about 2 years left till retirement and I am seriously considering them where to stick their policys.

Military Medical benefits have gone out the window with it taking over 2 years to get my knee fixed and that only after writing Senators, hounding the Wing commander and making enemies throughout the hospital. The worst of it is the recruits we do get can barely read, write or speak english. We are taking more and more non citizens from "friendly" countries since we can't find US youth that will serve their country. The saddest part of this is that the "foreign" troops are better than the citizens as far as work ethic, desire to further education etc. They are a joy to supervise where as I feel more like a baby sitter with American new troops. I have had recent troops from Honduras and Panama and they both have proved to be the best of my "new guys". One of them has already been named the Best in all of Air Combat Command, received his citizenship, finished a college degree and been hand picked to join the Thunderbirds demonstration team. The other is finishing his degree and is going to be commisioned when he finishes it. In teh mean time, out of my other 2 US born new troops, I had to discharge them both for numerous legal problems I won't go into.

I am afraid to even think what kind of people are fixing our civilian airliners, cars and putting together high rise buildings. If they are anything like what I am seeing, skyscapers will start falling over the first time the wind blows.

Of course a lot of this may have to do with their role models. The recent news about how the whole Kosovo thing was made up to allow Clinton to divert attention from the impeachment hearings and they aren't finding any mass graves after all other than the ones from after we started our "campaign" makes me ill. Even worse it is now coming out that we have sold China technology to both increase missile range and reliability as well as the technology on how to deploy multiple warheads from a single booster. Hope the votes were worth it Billy boy. Last week, He also released a heap of Plutonium to them to make sure they had enough to build some new warheads to top off all that new technology. Maybe Clinton wants to be the new Premier of China after he leaves office here in the US.

Good Luck,

Lee
